Evening folks,

Been a while since I've specced a machine to build. Got this idea in my head for building a tiny subtle and quiet machine early next year for some UW 1440p 60fps gaming and photo work. So I am putting together some specs to see what I can come up with.

Here is what I have come up with. Case wise I'd be ordering the Loque whatever model is their current at the time. Thoughts? The only thing I am unsure of is the RAM. I've read Ryzen is picky when it comes to RAM :) - so not 100% sure if this is compatible or not.

The other thing I have doubts on is the CPU cooler and whether or not it will fit inside the Loque case. But that is easily remedied with a non stock quiet cooler. I'm even considering adding the "top hat" extension to fit an AIO cooler. But I'd wait to see how temps and noise are first I think.

Couple of thoughts...

- AMD over Intel this time, I am more productivity orientated over gaming.
- AMD GPU as my monitor has freesync which I want to utilise. From what I've read a Vega 56 should meet my needs perfectly.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,590.00 (includes shipping: £11.10)

Instead of getting a 1tb ssd.. get two 512gb ssds...

Why?
U can have windows loading of one ssd.. and your gpu drivers and startup apps and system cache e.c.t loading of the other ssd....

Should speed things up a bit...and if windows messes up? U dont have to format the whole device

Dont get a 450watt psu with vega... u need atleast 750watts...

Why u spending so much cash on a 450watt psu? U can get a gold tier 1200watt for the same price... or get a 850watt and spend the left over to double your ram and make a ramdisc....

Small form factor, mini ITX...….

Although there are plenty more power PSU's in the SFX range for the same price: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/search?sSearch=sfx+psu

I was under the impression when it came to figuring out the PSU requirements you find out the TDP of each component, add it up, put a bit more on top, and then a PSU of that amount will do the trick just fine? Hasn't it been proven that many PC's have dramatically overpowered PSUs because people don't actually check the power they really need so their PSU's are very overkill?

Splitting the SSDs sounds good and the board does have 2 NVM ports so thats not an issue.

And that PSU is expensive as its silent/passively cooled and its modular.

Oh and 32gb is the max for that board :) - which is plenty for me anyway.

Vega GPU's are very well known for being power hungry cards, 200-300w, with a 450w PSU that it pretty much gone, and theres nothing wrong with plenty of headroom, im afraid a 450w PSU silent or not isn't going to cut it or is going to be very close to maxed out all the time if you're gaming.

Have a look here for that card....under specifications, it states minimum PSU 650w https://www.powercolor.com/product?id=1521537060#spe

leaves room for top hat :D

same price as one you listed, could get i7 9700k 8 core , which is your using adobe would be faster as well as gaining better FPS for games due to clock speed. use 240 AIO like alphacool eisbaer

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,586.00 (includes shipping: £11.10)

and you can pay for that bu using 3000hz 16gb Team Group Vulcan for £109 ! saves £90
