Hi guys

Just wanted to let you know and also to say thanks to those who have provided me with the required information.

I have overclocked my E6660 to 3GHZ but one thing I'm not sure about is my temps I have just benchmarked with 3d Mark 06 and I had a score of 10,754

Temps in Core temp was 60c on each core underload

Temps at desktop 53c

Is this ok

All i did in bios was up the FSB to 333

Thanks again

I've just the same thing yesterday, put the fsb to 333Mz on a E6600, and I have to say your temps seem a little high. I'm getting 23C and 24C on the cores at desktop using core temp and around 42C under full load, using an AF7 cooler.

do you have the cpu fan at full pelt?. if not turn it up and recheck reading i have the same cooler at 3ghz the cpu temp shouldn't be that high.

zia

I'm having similar issues, I think I'll have to reapply the paste.

E6600 @ 3ghz with a scythe ninja (with the fan on) is 63 degrees for me.

23!? Are you sure?

Yes. As I sit here now Core1 is 23C core2 is 25C and overall cpu temp is 37C. Under load both cores go up to about 42C with an overall cpu temp of about 55C. I am however running vista 64 so almost no software installs correctly, but Ive always assumed the readings were correct.

Your temps are wrong.

ok I have now re set the cpu cooler with thermal paste temps are now

CPU 39 °C (102 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #1 44 °C (111 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #2 45 °C (113 °F)

I have changed the bios back to standard settings E6660 2.4GHZ - these temps are at desktop not under load

These temps are using Everest Ultimate Edition

OK, my mistake, the readings i posted earlier were not measured with core temp, but with speed fan. So i have just downloaded coretemp and at idle core1 is 24C core2 26C but the T-junction is showing 85C  . Under load using orthos cores go up to about 46C but the T-junction dosn't change. In the bios temps read about 2 or 3 degrees higher, so who do i beleve? .

tjunction is the cpus throttle target temp. basically the LIMIT the cpu would go to, it wont change, its a stat.

What cooling?

Whats ya vcore at?

I have checked in the BIOS

Vcore is 1.31
CPU VTT Voltage 1.24
Northbridge 1.23
Southbridge 1.52

CPU Temp in BIOS is reading 40c, I have re applied thermal paste though I am using the paste that came with the Zalman cooler, I am going to buy some Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound and see what I get then.
