ive got it upto 2.9 32m stable, but cant seem to get it stable at 3.0 (which im dying to do :) )

have i got any settings wrong here? its only on low volts (1.488v) and the temps are fine

im running some things on auto like voltage/multiplier, should these be manually set?

spec is:

opty 148 cabye 0543
asus a8ne
2gb geil value
tagen 580
zalman 9500

try pushing the volts up to 1.6v (temps allowing).

also i wouldnt pay much attention to voltage on that.

ideally you should set voltage manually and the divider doesnt matter too much at the moment until you find the CPU max... but you could certainly get the memory running much faster!

how do i get the memory running faster? what should the ram timings be?

my board will only let me go to 1.55v so ill try that.

im a complete novice to overclocking, im surprised ive got this far

you will want to go into the bios and set all the setting that u can to the ones shown in cpu-z, then u can lower them systematically to give u faster timings. I would deff try and increase the voltage manually a bit more, as auto is never great and set the multi to manual and then the setting shown. (never trust auto to do it right). apart from that sounding like a nice overclock. getting the ram timings lower will see a good reduction in super pi times.

ive put the volts upto 1.55 (cpuz shows its going fluctuating from that to 1.6v)

the ram timings are on manual and ive set the multi to 11 but i still cant get it stable at 3.0, although it does take longer to fail in super pi

what should i set the ram timings to? i havnt got a clue what they should be :S

keep them as they are for now....

they work. RAM timings wont be the problem tbh i dont think. best way to check is to download memtest and stick it on floppy disc or possibly CD. then run this. it tests your memory for errors... run it for about 1hr to see if it fails at all, if it does then theres something amiss with the settings. if its ok you could try pushing the ram higher and retrying.

also what temps do you have?

you could try a zalman northbridge cooler if the board does not exceed 260mhz as the extra cooling may be just enough to tip get it stable at higher.

i changed the ram timings to 2.5, 3, 3, 7 and put a bit more power through it and voila :)

changed the multi to 10 so i could get a faster ram speed aswel, it worked the same with a multi of 11 though.

the volts are only set to 1.55 in bios, not sure why they are shown as 1.6 in cpuz?

anyway, well chuffed ive got a quality chip :)

edit, temps were/are 33 idle 42 load i think
