First PC build help

Now running the test again with a single stick in B2 - 8 instances running with 650mb in each.

No errors yet but i'll let it run all the way through then swap sticks over.

Yes well within 28 days of purchase.

What do you mean by abuse exactly? :D I checked it's clear and not damaged and put the stick in a number of times now.

No errors returned on 100% with a single stick in slot B2. It's actually going past 100% but I assume this is sufficient? If so I'll swap it over and run the same test.

A2 is actually the slot furthest from the concrete slab of a cooler!

Stick one ran past 400% on all 8 instances without error.

Swapped sticks over an one instance has given errors immediately so looking like the ram now?

What should I do next? Same test using A1/B1?

Yeah also crashed on the blue screen with memory errors again. Swapped sticks back for piece of mind and running memtest again with no errors does appear to be an issue with that one stick.

I will get onto them and return the set for a replacement.

haha thanks guys running the second test now. No errors yet!

On the plus side I'm getting pretty good at replacing the fan on the cooler now :D

The company I got the ram from (rhymes with scam) want 3-5 working days on receipt to organise a replacement. I'm not overly happy about this so have requested a refund and will take my business elsewhere. Is this still the best ram to get?

Few motherboards do these days. For the most part it’s reserved for ITX and high end boards. My Maximus X Formula has it, but I don’t use it.

I would strongly recommend wired Ethernet, but if you can’t, I used the Netgear AC1200 (A6210) and was very impressed. It’s a USB dongle rather than a PCI-E card though.

Something like this from OCUK would be good, there are higher end versions with external antennas available too : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...-pci-e-adapter-90ig00k0-bm0000-nw-088-as.html

Thanks, I don't have any ethernet sockets in the house unfortunately. I was also considering those powerline adapters but heard mixed reviews. The only other option would be mesh wifi but that's much more expensive.

It's a new build house and there are telephone sockets in each room so I guess that's an option. I'm only on Sky fiber so It wouldn't need to handle anything over 50mb/s to be honest.
