Im in the process of building my pc. It's my first time doing this and so far so good. Following the sticky guide here and almost done.

However! When I mounted the CPU cooler I realised straight away it was facing the wrong way, so quickly unscrewed it and put it on the right way. I'm just curious did I break the seal on the thermal paste and do u need to clean it off and reapply it?

well technically you should tho I can't say for sure if you'll be ok or not, just keep any eye on the temps if they seem high then do it.

whats the spec?

I have the top 1, bought it like 4/5yrs back. got another one somewhere in my pc 'junk' as got it free at one of the multiplay i-series lan party events with akasa freebies.

do you have more tim? if not would suggest http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=TH-003-AR&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=27

You should be fine - don't worry about it unless your temps are high.

I did something not too unlike that building my rig - when trying to evenly tighten the screws concurrently, I screwed one of the screws too much and the cooler popped up for a second. I put it back in place and despite an unrelated issue of having some dodgy ram at first, it has been 100% stable with good temps too.
