I'm building myself a PC for the first time and would appreciate it if you guys could look at the specs and confirm that all the components are indeed compatible.

It's for gaming and any recommendations/improvements are welcome. My budget is about £900.

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz £179.99

Gigabyte Z77M-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £86.99

EVGA GeForce GTX 560 SC 1024MB £139.99

Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 £99.95

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s £89.99

OCZ Vertex 3 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive £89.99

CM Storm Enforcer Gaming Case - Black £69.98

Corsair Builder Series CX 600W V2 '80 Plus' Power Supply £56.99

OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter £12.98

Total: £841.85

Also, is there any extra wires or anything I need to build this or are the components the only requirement? I don't need an OS.

right on budget! ;p

better mobo than the z77m-d3h, waaaaay better gpu
do you really need 16gb ram? 8 is sufficient for gaming
dropped the hdd to 1gb due to costs
sammy 830 is as fast as the vertex 3 (maybe faster, cant remember exactly)
dropped psu to 550w, cheaper, and 600w is not really needed anyway, too much for 1 card, too little for 2 cards (gpu)

I hate to be "that guy" but that's a mish mash of parts. Seeing as the CM is red LED and has a window all that blue looks a bit naff to me.....just my opinion.

that is why...i hate windowed cases...lol
but seeing as op also went with a gb mobo, he should be fine with it? no? =x

I don't really care how the window looks, just the parts inside.
I had 16GB of RAM to reduce render times when using SDKs. This isn't too important though, as I can use my Universities computer labs for that instead and this is primarily for gaming anyway.

You take things too personally Tam. We are all allowed an opinion bud. You can slate me for using a 600W PSU but atleast it was modular (there is a slightly cheaper OCZ 550W modular PSU). This does help a lot in midi tower cases, when we hear back from the OP we can adjust things to suit his needs/style.

go for the big daddy instead ;p
get the silver arrow sb-e!

anyway, the gelid tranquillo is really irrelevant, the true spirit 120 is waaaay better, and cheaper!

u went over budget!
i like that psu better tho

my white build was best...with the phanteks
was only 100pounds over budget and ud only have to clean it every hr
but for the 1st hour u own it...would look nice :p

That cooler is ridiculous :p

Mei's spec looks good but swap the Foxconn for an internal DVD-RW (Samsung or Liteon) and a case that's ATX (I'm sure Silverstone have a decent one at the same price as the HTPC option).
