Hello,

I am hoping someone is able to help me. I have been looking at getting a pc for a few months and finally in a position to do so along with reading people post before to wait for the new Ryzen. I don’t feel to confident in building so looking for Overclockers to build. The computer will be used for general word documents, photo storage ,editing and pc gaming. Hoping the computer to be a bit of an all rounder and getting the best value with my money. I am looking to game but won’t be worried to much about high competitive gaming. Overall I will need all, computer, monitor, keyboard and mouse and would be looking to complete this for around £1500. If it will make a fair difference to something I won’t mind stretching a little more. Appreciate any help

@Plec tomorrow.
but i won't be building just yet.

RMAing all my new mp510 drives back. got 2 off the MM practically new. massive saving all round. £250 -> £180 for both drives.

Time constraints - or case quandary?

LOL - you really are price savvy. I saw your second purchase - popped as i was browsing MM - even more of a bargain as prices were going up as he put it up.

I missed out on a brand new Dark Rock Pro 4 for nuts money - i need to browse that place more - but so far have never bought a second hand component (took me years to enable Trust). Only thing i've bought off there is game codes. I'd probably only risk memory/new'ish NVMe (like you did)/CPU and air coolers - too sceptical to risk anything else, unless i knew the member well.

lack of nvme ssds lol.

my current rig is practically from the MM lol
(with the exception of the 1080ti - that being said, the evga aio cooler attached to it is from the MM too :D)

LOL - of course - Monday at earliest?

I couldn't resist doing skeleton a setup outside of the case - get DOA 'mental itch' out of the way.

Looking at the deals to be had - makes sense, you can save hundreds buying 12 months down the line from browsing. I'm a sucker for new (apart from cars - let someone else pay the forecourt tax) - plus i would be too cynical to enjoy the buying experience.

You seem to have the knack - or have an innate ability of vetting the sellers credibility (although MM is far less of a ****show than ebay)

probably the next monday, not this monday coming up...working literally the whole week this coming week :(

indeed :D

3770k - MM
mobo - MM
RAM - MM
GPU - new
SSD - MM
HDD - new
CPU cooler - MM
GPU cooler - MM
PSU - MM
Case - won from competition

nah. MM is pretty very safe due to the high entry requirements. prices also more reasonable because of the lack of a middleman taking a cut from the transaction.
i've previously had to RMA a dead SSD i bought from MM, and the seller helped me with no qualms nearly a year after i bought it from him.

Ouch - sitting on brand new tech for a week. Couldn't do it - i would have to build, even if troubleshooting became involved.

Christ - i've been doing this all wrong.

Yep, i may have to suspend my natural cynicism of the human condition when browsing the MM - it appears to be costing me considerable amounts of cash. Especially, for kids PCs although i may buy my son the MAX with a 3700X as an early XMAS present in November, if B550s are late coming - and i doubt any of those are going to appear any time soon... :D

I think he's sorted @4K8KW10 - Clicky - recognised his name.

I don't think he has bought anything yet.

The suggestions in the other thread are not the best, especially that sad 6-core in the budget of 1500 £, it must be crazy.....
Why do they recommend things out of stock, and blower cards?!

Wow thank you for all the help, I’m gonna start going through all these suggestions now and see where I get :)

Quite possibly.

You can pick holes in all builds - but post #10 offers great performance - and i would argue 1440p is the sweetspot for gaming - *personal preference. (i'm not being biased - deliberately didn't mention name as I don't want to cause an unnecessary debate.)

I'm not going to pick apart yours - as it's not my 'intended' style - but at least the OP has choices and can ask questions about the different builds which then can be nuanced to his wants. It's what makes spec me threads interesting for the OP - he can select parts from an assortment of builds and trains of thought, which hopefully morph into the best fit for his needs or even idiosyncrasies.

4k's blocked me because i made him admit that intel had the better cpu (2700x vs 9900k) back when he was a fanatical amd fangirl. seems to have lost that somewhat and flip flops depending on whether he has remembered to take his meds or not. ;)

^^^^ Well, i won't be quoting - as i have no idea how blocking works but suspect quotes are bypassed. But would explain his confusion of build choice.

But, I'll pass on your regards - although the added love and kisses are probably unnecessary :D

no idea. i never block too...rather love seeing the crap some people post :D
you need to add xoxo to the end too! else it's incomplete
