it had to happen, years of driving and riding in excess of the speed limits, and numerous talking myself Into warnings and 7 day wonders I finally get a ticket, no grumble from me as was my choice etc etc

was on the brighton seafront road came away from lights and saw the copper with gunin hand, braked but got pinked at 41 in a 30, road is 2 lane dual carriageway and really straight will good visibility (even more inexcusable I missed him)and was Clear for a good mile or more at the time

He was nice enough gave the normal lecture and wished me well after giving me a fixed noticed.

This was my first day back on the bike after retiring the M3 to be Sold. was typical it happened today.

the other problem which again was my choice and I accept my punishment So all you keyboard warriors Shh, is my bike has no mot as it's booked in early next week for it. I know its non point endorsable So not that bothered Just wondering what fine is likely, It carrys a £1000 max fine,

has anyone been done for no mot?

it all seems so false as both the copper and I know the points and fine will do nothing and I will continue to ride at speeds appropriate to the conditions etc, and the Mot, well as someone who always has tax insurance mot for both car and bike all the time its sods law I get picked up on it during the 3 day period that there is a gap in my mot yet thousands of people never bother being legal

oh well that`s life was my call ;)

Shame about the points, and shame you're getting rid of the M3. I'll come round and get it and I'll make sure the car will never both you again :)

What happened there?

(unlucky about the points by the way, atleast you are honest and are taking them without complaint though.)

various things have meant I am So skint, all it needs is something big to break on my car and I'm screwed

going to clear loads of debts so I can improve my standard of living, I want to socialise more go on holiday with my mates.

I do love my car so much, and am going to be so gutted when some lucky git drives her away :(

Fair enough, that's pretty gutting but sensible. Shows real character to be able to take your head over your heart sometimes.

going to stick her on piston heads.going to ask for 22k which stock cars of same Spec and in this condition are going for (top end). The fact they will get 7-8k worth of performance mods and a car faster than a m3 csl (the cams remap and the exhaust are the Same ones used on the csl to make it faster) is an added bonus

I really have no choice at this time I definitely want to get another at some point down the line though

she is so gorgeous, not a week ago she showed a clean pair of heels to my mate on his R1 from a rolling 30-40 start, my mate was well gutted, I thought he was Just playing with me but he said he was gunning it

yes, but a looong time ago.
the fine was 30 quid.

Ouch unlucky with the ticket.

And naughty boy with the MOT :o

I can't imagine the fine being near £1000. The fact that you have a test booked and the bike isn't a complete shed and dangerous should go in your favour I'd have thought :)

Let us know how it goes.

P.S Very gutted to hear about the m3 going, love it. Know how much you do as well, must be even worse seeing as you've put so much time, effort and stash into it :(

Question to car-techy-people...

My old MicraBanger (K10 1990 model) seems to have a weird fault... whenever I go around a roundabout, the handbrake warning light on the dash comes on, then disappears as soon as I straighten up.

Before I start breaking things, could someone tell me if that's a faulty reading somewhere, or if the brakes/handbrake/something is on its way out?

handbrake warning light usually doubles up as low brake fluid warning.
low level?? ie when you corner it sloshes to one side of the reservoir below the sensor?
