Just bought a nice place and wanting to kit out the living room with a decent amp/speaker combo.

Currently have a Sony 40" X3500 1080p, but will change for 3D (52" probably) next year/when matured.

Devices I have are PS3, Sony Bluray player, Wii, Sky HD.

I am thinking...

KEF 2005.3 5.1s
Onyko SR608B

Budget around £1000.

Want something decent sounding for movies and music. I am coming from Soundworks S750 7.1 which I think are good, which is the benchmark! Sure those 5.1s blow them away...

Can't argue with the Onkyo 608 & KEf's.

Get a demo if you can and consider Denon 1911 amp, yamaha v667amp - they are all around the £450 mark as well. Also these are all 3d ready, hdmi 1.4 amps so youd be set for 3d.

Haha thanks will do, HDMi 1.4 is what pulled me towards it

What about building around floor stands? EPOS M22i look like a good deal at £599, could start off with 2 of these, then slowly upgrade to 5.1/7.1? Are those sort of speakers more suited to music?
