Finally got my D80 last Thursday so after charging the battery I started pressing the shutter. These are some of the shots I got...

Obvious improvement is to re-shoot avoiding the light bands in the top half and turn the globe around to avoid the lower square of light that draws your eye..

Seems flat and lacking contrast but you should have seen the RAW file, there was very little there! I need to practice my exposure techniques methinks...

Nothing too imaginative just convenient shots taken indoors or locally, I have got a lot to learn so C&C very welcome

:)

I like number 1, you have already spotted what I would have commented on.

Looks like number 4 could have done with a flash.

Ta for your replies,

Gord, yeah I agree a fill in flash would have been better, next time i'm in a similar position up will pop up the flash.

Syk3 yup it's a Jelliphish or whatever it's called, it's a novelty gift that i bought the Mrs :D

We have one of them, its great for taking pictures of!
Great picture though, but yeah that square of light does sort of draw me to look at it.

My favourite part is the light reflecting off the lamp, creates a great effect.
