Hello. Last days i bought my new Gigabyte Gtx 980 Ti reference. I was playing few days Witcher 3 without single crash. But today i encountered my first TDR crash just after starting a game.
Game just freeze, screen goes black and then pop up:"nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered".
I still can give back card to shop and take new one. I have 14 days for that. So what to do now? Is my card unstable on reference clocks then?
I dont OC card. All is stock reference clocks. Drivers are 353.06 WHQL. Today just first time i get TDR crash on my card on Witcher 3. I still can give back card to shop for a full refund. And i dont know what to do.

After few days of playing, today i get first TDR crash just after 5 seconds of starting game Witcher 3.
Game just freeze, screen goes black and then pop up: " 353.06 nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered". If it crashes TDR its always card issue or it can be game problem \ drivers? I must get back card to shop or stay with it?

I think it's the drivers. Are there any reported stable drivers for the Ti that anyone can recommend to Asia23fab?.

Drivers mate . Known issue.

Don't worry it's just the drivers at the moment are broken. Nvidia are going to release a hotfix driver soon for the TDR problem. Your hardware is fine.

power management to maximum performance in control panel (NVidia) and taking off the fps limiter stopped my driver crashes in Witcher 3

That will only go so far and is a placebo, the latest drivers are suffering from timing issues which Nvidia are going to hopefully fix very soon.

Well it certainly helped, and no crashes since so..... It was definitely a power management issue in the game. It would only crash when coming out of the menus (ie when the card was downclocked load and sipping power and then going back into the game)

If your card is defective you have 3 years of warranty to cover yourself. The 14 day return window is for refunds on unwanted products.

I had that after an update once. Crashed every time i went to start it after updating (game world loaded and boom driver stopped respondedinh). Verified/repaired the install and all was fine again and has been for many hours/days.

The answer wont change the more times you ask the same question :p

Seriously though, its drivers. Ive had it a few times on my Titan

Thanks for help. I have a question.
It crashed TDR ""nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" once of 60 hours of play.
It crashed when game world loaded ( after load ) and boom driver stopped responding.
Is this something to worry about? Stay with that card or not?
