Hello everyone, mainly what my problem is, this is my first time building a computer. I've never done it before in any way, shape or form, so i dont really know a lot about the insides of a computer. I am a gamer, so obviously i like to play games :) so the computer im trying to build is a gameing one but the problem is, with the limited knowledge i have about building a computer, i dont know if any one the following items i have bought, are compatible. One thing tho, is the graphics card im getting is a must, i dont want to change that.

So the graphics card i am getting is, the Nvidia geforce GTX 560 Ti.

and the processor im planning on getting providing they work together is the Phenom II x4 3.4 GHz processor.

and i was planning on getting a asus sabertooth x58 motherboard but i recently found out that wont work together with the processor, so i dont know what motherboard to get, can anyone recommend one, thats within the same price range that will work with the graphics card and the processor that will work just as good.

and a 750w power supply.

So my problem is, i want to know if all of theese i have listed, will work together? because i dont know a lot about the inside of a computer, im not actually sure what i should be looking for. So really the main question is.

Will all of theese work together and if they do, ill get straight to ordering them, and if not. What would you guys recommend as a replacement within the same sort of price range. That will work together.

Thank you for reading this everyone and have a great day.

Also sorry if this is in the wrong forum, i was not sure which forum would be best for this, so i just went with my gut instinct and went here. :)

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

Do you have a budget in mind and will you require a operating system, mouse and KB.

^ Yup, give us a budget and we can sort you out.

Edit: Do you need OS, hard drive, optical drive?

Thank you, and my budget is £500, for the whole PC, Although i have to buy Ram, but thats not that bad anyway right? all i need to know is a good motherboard and processor to go with the graphics card, thats around the same price range as the ones ive listed, that would work well with each other, as for the operating system, im fine :)

Same goes for the mouse and keyboard, im good :)

I like to play mainly, FPS games, and MMorpgs, so like, call of duty, battlefield, guild wars 2 etc etc, as for a dvd-rw i alrdy have one of them on standby, same goes for a hard drive. :)

Forgot to ask, do you have a psu and if so what make, model and wattage is it. It`s not always necessary to have a 750W Psu.

Erm, i have a PSU but to be honest i have no idea what Wattage it is, is there anyway to find out without actually opening up a PC?

No Just take the side panel off and look inside. If youe psu is any good, it will enable you to get more for your money. No point in wasting money if you have a perfectly good Psu.:D

We are expecting new CPUs from Intel (Ivybridge) this month, so it's wise to discuss your options and gain some knowledge about building your rig whilst you wait....you've come to the right place for advice :)

Sehcure's spec is quite nice, you really do want to be looking to build around that 7850 GPU. The tranquillo heatsink isn't really needed to be honest, the i3 CPU comes with a heatsink and you can't overclock it (make it run faster) so a massive heatsink to keep it cool is £25 i would look to put into the mobo budget for example.

Oh, thanks for the tip honosuseri :) im learning quite a bit today, this will be handy for the future if i decide to build another computer.

You're welcome :)

That's a useful site to compare components. I've shown the 7850 vs the 560ti (your original choice) you can also click the links to compare CPUs etc too. Currently for gaming CPU wise the only real choice is the i3 2100 or the i5 2500K till ivybridge is released.

I would suggest you wait for the ivybridge CPUs, if you can save a lil extra cash, even £50 can make a big difference and allow us to "swing" a better CPU into the spec. OCuk do weekly as well as daily offers so the exact parts we spec can vary from week to week. So it's always best to double check before you buy to make sure you get the most of the offers ;)

I was assuming he'd move on to a 2500k at a later date, so it'd mean less money spent on a cooler aswell! :)

I know what you were doing bud. Personally i would have put that £25 into a better case than the outlaw.....the shinobi USB3 for example or the zalman Z9 or even a better mobo, Z77 maybe.

The i5K can get to 4ghz on the retail heatsink as i'm sure you know. It would be nice to have an aftermarket heatsink but adopting one early doesnt really provide any real benefit.

Everyone is entitled to their own take on how to divvy out the budget....i wasn't slating your choices, just suggesting the OP talks things through to help decide how he would like to divide the budget best himself.
