Hi all,

I've been looking through the boards and the general advice seems to be to post up the proposed build for review.

Please could you let me know your thoughts? I originally planned on an i5 processor but I've been advised to get the i7 - what do you reckon?

All from OCs:
Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £254.99
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560Ti OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £179.99
Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £81.38
Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 650W V2 High Performance '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXV2UK) £79.99
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (ST500DM002) £71.99
Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black £49.99
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CML4GX3M2A1600C9) £23.99
Samsung SH-S222AB/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £18.98

Thanks very much!
Tathie

Are you doing a lot of video editing and Photoshop? That sort of thing is better off done on a i7 processor but if you are just mostly gaming then the i5 will be plenty for you.

What res are you going to game at?

at 1920 x 1080 that cars is pretty nice :D anything more and you might want to go a bit beefer

If its for gaming you can save some money and get an i5 there wont be any difference unless you are doing lots of encoding

Thanks for the comments - I'm going to put an i5 in I think :)

Also considering getting the GTX 560 instead of GTX 560 Ti - or do you reckon it's worth the extra bit?

get the best GPU within your budget. the Ti is worth the extra money. Seen as though your pretty much saving £80 downgrading from the i7 to the i5 put that extra money towards a better graphics card like the 560Ti '448' or 570, or the ATI equivalents ofcourse.

I would deffinatly suggest this, by purchasing an i5 2500k instead of an i7, you could purchase the 560Ti '448' witch is a verry decent card, infact its the newer version of the gtx 560 releases. also, this card is up there with 6970 and the gtx 570 :D its also able to be oc'd 15% stable leaving you with a GPU clock of 863Mhz, witch is pretty damn powerfull.

information and reveiw on the card here -> http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_560_Ti_448_Cores_Twin_Frozr_III/1.html

whats your overall budget?
