Ok so I built a PC based on one i'd seen on here, it's pretty much the same as the Titan Fusion (which I wish I bought instead now -_-), I've always been into pcs, upgrading etc, so I wanted to build my own for the first time to see if it's something I could do and maybe something i could do for part time work, I was pretty confident I could do it. But maybe I was wrong?
Didn't hit any problems with the assembly, everything went together well, kept static to a minimum with everything I did, ground myself all the time etc.
The problem is that the PC isn't POSTing (think its called that). No motherboard beeping what-so-ever. All the fans switch on, dvd drive works, hard drive feels and sounds like its spinning. tried disconnecting things and moving memory modules around but surely it should still beep.
Graphics card acts slightly strange, sounds like the fan sort of cycles, it starts at medium, increases its speed to maximum then slows down and starts again.
CPU is working I think, feels like it's heating up.
I've tried another powersupply so I dont think thats a factor, and i wouldve thought if its the exact same spec as the one i'd seen on here then it would be compatible.
i've tried clearing cmos, but i'm not sure if i've done it correctly, i've followed the instructions to the best of my ability but some of it is still a bit beyond me (things like the whole headers and jumper setting things which i think i've got right, though i'm not sure if you're supposed to leave any on or whether you receive them with any parts in the first place).
I thought perhaps the motherboard was toast but i'm not exactly sure on how you'd test or diagnose such a thing, went to that assumption purely because it doesnt beep and i know the speaker on it works because it makes a noise when you connect it with the power on. Even when i've got a monitor plugged in it just stays black.
I even got confused about no visible LED light on the motherboard (I wondered if you had to purchase it separate) having being used to one on my old pc.
Any help i'd really appreciate, I really dont want to feel like i've blown £400 on an experiment
Also if anyone does reply, can you try and make it as simple as possible, i'm not overly competant with the ancient art of pc wizardry.
Thanks for your time
