Hi everyone, im new to this forum and system building in general, but basically i have been researching for a few months now and am almost ready to place an order with OCUK. I would really appreciate some opinion on the system i.e. compatability, reliability, and overclocking potential. I currently already have a 'Gainward 8800GTS 640MB' so the graphics card is done for the time being, here is the rest of the system

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit Edition DVD - OEM

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)

GeIL 4GB (4x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)

Asus P5KC Combo Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard

Samsung SpinPoint T 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD501LJ)

Samsung SH-S202JBEBN 20x DVD±RW x12 Ram Dual Layer DVD-Writer (Black) - OEM

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g)

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775)

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer 7.1 Sound Card - Retail

Antec P182 Super Midi Tower Case - No PSU (Gun Metal Black)

Antec Quattro 850W PSU

Total : £819.94 :(

I do a lot of gaming and want to have a future proof system that will last a couple of years. Will it be worth having 4GB of RAM?
I hope this is enough info and would really appreciate some advice!:)

Wow quick replies my max budget is about £800 (excluding graphics card), and i have a 22" Asus monitor.... Yeah i was thinking that the psu was a bit overkill, but i might possibly go SLI or crossfire in the future....:D But the geil ram is good..? My alternative was the corsair 2gb XMS PC-6400 but slightly more expensive...

go for the vx 450, or if you are overclocking, go for the hx 520.

geta tuniq tower for the cooling, or a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, with a noctua S12 fan

Well if you want to save a bit of money go with the corsair 650w psu, it should be able to run sli in the furture no problem. RAM is fine, will be able to overclock the hell out of the CPU and wont even hinder the RAM

Great, thanks for all your help! ill probs go for the Corsair 620 PSU... save a few quid! is the tuniq towwe 120 a more efficient cooler than the freezer pro 7?
