Possible light at the end of the tunnel here....
Ive done another clean install of XP but this time with just sp2 and the 1.1 .net. No other updates. Ive then put on the latest AMD Nforce from the nvidia site and the Cat 6.2 drivers.
Nothing else at all is on the PC.
Just had Riddick on for 15 mins, no problems at all.
Not got my soundcard in or installed the Razer drivers. Hard to say what the problem is really, going to try a couple other games and see what gives

FEAR stress test went through fine no problems, played Far Cry and it was fine for a bit but then exited to the desktop, feeling thats a Far Cry issue though. Riddick works spot on, played 15 mins of it.
So far so good...

Got one of these BSOD while installing Call of Duty 2:
0x0000004E: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

This indicates that the memory management Page File Number list is corrupted. Can be caused by corrupt physical RAM, or by drivers passing bad memory descriptor lists.
Im convinced the card is fine to be honest, theres just something else playing up.

Right, got prime95 and did clicked on torture test. Wasnt sure if you need to set anything up so i literally didnt do anything once installed other than click that. Theres loads of nonsense in the window but when i stopped the test this morning it says this:
Torture Test ran 8 hours, 14 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
Execution halted.
Does that mean my RAM/CPU is ok? Or have I not done it right

Played FEAR and moved around etc, seemed ok. Exited the game and got an IRQ NOT EQUAL bsod 
Something still not definately right it seems.
Think ill give 3d mark 06 a go see if it crashes during that.

Ran 3D Mark 06 with prime95 at the same time and it was fine. No errors/crash.

Yeh I got it from here when they had the offers on.
Ive put the 6.3 drivers on and played FEAR for over an hour, no crashes, ran flawlessly.

Still not crashed again. Played all the way through the Chronicles of Riddick and was fine. Looked ace too in 1920x1200 with all settings on max

Still not out the water by the look of things
PC just shut down whilst playing Oblivion. So I guess the problem is still here somewhere.
ajgoodfellow - I downloaded MBM5 but not exactly sure what im doing with it, just loads of stuff that doesnt really make much sense. Also when configuring it initially my motherboard wasnt listed, not sure if this is a problem?

MBM5 wouldnt give me any readings (prob me doing something wrong) so I got the Asus Probe II.
Gives the following readings:
Vcore: 1.55v
+3.3: 3.31v
+5: 5.03v
+12: 12.10v
Is that all you need?

The mystery continues. I think its defo a conflict of some kind as ive played Chronicles of Riddick from start to finish with all settings maxed out, good few hours at a time and no problems at all.
Oblivion when I last tried it (although it was working ok) switched my PC off after about 10 mins.
Havent tried any other games since, dont really want to go off Oblivion to see if theres a problem as with it being new it could be something to do with that game.
Will install some others to see if they crash.

Just one other thing to mention in case this does actually make a difference...
My TT PSU, I got it when they basically came out, and the pci-e connectors on it didnt actually fit, something about the standard socket being changed or something, so ive had to buy a convertor and use that on one of the wires that you plug into say a dvd drive. Would that make any difference?

how should i have it set up then. should i have two wires connecting to the adapter with nothing else on each one?

well the wire its connected to at the moment has two ide hard drives on it too

I can probably borrow some memory so will give that a blast too, going to try the psu thing as well but I did initially suspect the memory. Its been replaced once by Crucial so its fairly new although im aware that loads end up failing
