The windows copy is genuine! It's just doesn't include the support. It's a pc builders copy. I was pretty sure that it was a dvd drive but I'm going to try it on a laptop later and check. I've not updated the bios but how would I do that?
To be honest it should just work - might be a silly question but is the drive definitely DVD drive? We have an old external drive here at work and it is only capable of reading CD's not DVD's!
That was the problem! it didn't say on the drive itself but i looked up the model online and its a cdrw not dvd. I just bought a dvd drive online so hopefully all is well! Thanks!
