First time H440 build!

im in serious trouble guys! I've plugged the krakens usb header into the motherboard to see if that started the pump and and the computer flicked on and off in a split second (when i powered up) and won't turn on anymore! i scared I've F*@£ed it up! i have no one to turn to on this except you guys! please help!

Hey, good luck, I was like you. I wanted to build a custom PC but never had the guts to do it but I knew I never wanted to buy generic PC ever again. After researching, watching videos on youtube, I learnt and built my first custom PC few years ago, still running great. As a first time builder, all I say is take your time and never tie down your cables. There is no gurantee that your computer will run so make sure everthing is working, windows is loading and when your happy with the result then tie down everything. Anyway good luck, hope to see the final product soon.

Well I'm sending the psu back for testing but I'm really worried that the cooler and mobo may all be fried. When I get a new psu I'll power the kraken from the psu directly and see if that helps. I just find it odd that everything worked until I plugged the usb header into the mobo. I just have no way of testing what will and won't work

Back up and running! With many pictures and posts for you to laugh at. But I'm having a problem installing windows. If anyone can help it would be aprishiated. I'm installing windows from an external dvd rom but the bios on this motherboard is not making it easy and I don't seem to be able to boot from it even though it's set to position one in boot order. If anyone is used to the rog bios please help!

Everything seems to be showing correctly but it just won't boot from the windows disc. It doesn't even play it. The external drive is very old though an I'm wondering if it has the capability.

Does windows not even start the load procedure? I did have an issue where I could boot from disk but Windows wouldn't install properly — it required a bios update which fixed it.

So the disk drive is showing up in the bios?

By the way, love that case, was very temped by the orange! Hope you overcome these issues soon bud, i know how frustrating it can be.

The windows disc does not load after messing around for a wile I managed to get a screen that told me to insert media or select a working boot drive but when I inserted the disc and pressed a key it just put me back into bios. The sense of achievement at overcoming the problems I've had is great but I'm getting rather tired of not being able to use the £2000 paperweight.

Have you updated the bios, to the latest beta version? If not thats def where id start.

Is this a genuine windows disc? I'm sure you told me you bought one but I just want to check you have not bought it as a download instead and burned it to a dvd-rom wrongfully...

To be honest it should just work - might be a silly question but is the drive definitely DVD drive? We have an old external drive here at work and it is only capable of reading CD's not DVD's!
