HI Guys

Just bought this setup:

i5 2500k
Gigabyte Z77X-D3H motherboard
Samsung Green 16GB RAM

When I try overclocking to anything above stock it freezes or I get a BSOD as soon as Windows loads up, I can't even get to run Prime.

I've tried OCing to 4ghz, 4.2ghz, 4.4ghz and get an error every time, have tried changing the VCore to between 1.30 and 1.4 and the VTT from 1.05 - 1.20 and can't find a stable setup even to boot into Windows unless it is in safe mode.

Managed to get a error dump in safe mode.

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 124

Any help or suggestions would be welcomed.

OK, ran Prime95 for 8 hours at stock and one of the cores had an error.

Had the following error on Core 3:

FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 2.213541735e+020, expected less than 0.4.

So, 1 error in 8 hours...does this mean my CPU is knackered? Would explain why an OC fails everytime I guess if it can't even stress at stock. :(

Can I return this for a replacement or is there some weird tolerance disclaimer from Intel?

**edit - moved this to CPU section
