First time road kill

Just go home goin out and I flattend a rabbit all isaw were it's 2 red eyes

then felt 2 thuds on the front and rear tyre, felt awful anyone else feel bad their first time or have a crazy story to tell

unfortunately my mate made sure as he was following me that it was dead as he went over too :(

ive hit a few on the motorway at a pretty 'fair' speed ;) they have a habit of running across the road when they see headlights approaching. ive run over one in our drive too... heard its skull crack :/ (not on purpose i best add)
 
My 1st rabbit probably survived, just smacked its head with the sump.

I've done one at 90 on the A34, saw it about 1 second from impact, then it just went "tha-dunk" under 2 wheels. Barely felt it, must have absolutely creamed it.

I've done a bird too, it splatted itself all over the bonnet release handle, which was a pain to clean up.
 
i hit some kind of big bird once, i think it was a pheasant. i didnt stop but when i looked in the rear view mirror all i saw was a big cloud of feathers floating about.

another time i was turning a right hand corner at about 10mph and a pidgeon just walked into my path, the passenger side front wheel went over it and it crunched loudly, and the car slid sideways a couple of feet. it was gross.
 
I caught a Hare in my headlights & splattered it years ago, I slowed a bit to see if there was any Rad damage & then floored it again once I knew all was cool.
A few weeks later I took the car for an MOT & the Tester brought up his breakfast as there was all bits of Brains, Skin & stuff wedged here & there.
They got the young lad to steam clean it before he would test it, Win !!!
 
I hit a pidgeon at 50 mph the other day, it came from nowhere and flew right across the fromt of me, it looked like abig pillow fight had happend, i felt sad for the bird, but when i got home i felt sad for me as it had put a real nasty crease in the bonnet of my brand new mondeo.
 
A lad I know of was stopped in the road by about 15 pheasants, with their young etc. So he just floored the car through them leaving a trail of death and agony.

He's a ****** to be fair...think he's still seeing the girl who was in the car with him..

thats just harsh, if a pheasant is mucking about in front of me ill slow down a bit but im not going to swerve or stop to avoid it, a whole group would be a bit different though
 
I’ve hit what was probably a rabbit whilst blasting down a country road in the middle of the night.
 
Hit a pheasant once. Saw it fly out as I was doing a rate of knots on a countryside NSL road, swear it stared right at me as it hit the windscreen at god only knows what speed. Ignored it and carried on, torn between feeling sorry for the (presumably very dead) pheasant and wanting to **** myself laughing.
 
I was in the Australian outback and in one day, I took out 2 birds. One flew out of a tree to the right hand side, dived down to radiator height and I collected it at 70mph. One or two feathers out the back, pulled in for fuel 200km down the road and found it folded up against my radiator inside my bumper - was a right pain to get it out!
About 100km later, a white bird in the middle of the road left it a little too late to take off and it bounced off my bonnet just above the front badge, left a crystal-clear white tracing of a bird with wings at full stretch across the front my car (Not sure what it was, some kind of feather dust?) - the bird went up and over and I didn't see it land. Probably travelling at close to 80mph.

Poor things...
 
had a pigeon belly flop off my windscreen, no fatality, just a greasy mark on the windscreen
hit a partridge, looked in the rear view mirror and saw it do a little dance before it deceased
used to work with someone who smoked a lot of weed and owned a suzuki swift gti. he would park up on a summers night down a country lane, get stoned, then hit the the lights and plough around a field running over rabbits
 
Was passenger in my mate's car one night when he hit a rabbit on a country lane at 70(ish ;) ).

There was an almighty THWACK as said rabbit connected with and took out the front number plate, followed by a KATHUNKA-THUNKA-THUNKA as it bounced between the road and the bottom of the car as we went over it.
