First time SSD?

Hi i will be getting Samsung 840 EVO 250GB Basic what i would like to know is, will it be better to just to a fresh install of windows or will it just be the same to clone my normal harddrive over? and get the same performace with cloning?
One more thing you cant defrag these drives?

I'd start a fresh if you can.
Can't defrag SSDs no, well you can but it's not needed, ever.

You get optimal performance when the disk is maximally-fragmented!

if the data will fit then clone it!!!

its exact same performance as a fresh install,the only thing that changes is the actual drive not the data

defrag will be disabled in win7/8 it uses trim to maintain the drive

As they say assumptions are bad I would just open (don't need to run benchmark) AS SSD to check existing installation has correct partition offset. Will list value in top left and colour it red or green.
