first time with dual monitor..Flicker...

Greetings all,

I have a new monitor for xmas!

DELL 860-10161 - UltraSharp U2412M 24 INCH LED monitor (Now main monitor)

& my old Dell 2405FPW (2nd monitor)


I have a Radeon Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Which both monitors are connected with the Dual (DVI) ports.

On my main monitor I get some random flicking when using Chrome or scrolling on desktop.

I have turned off Overdrive in CCC.

Any other advice?

Possible other solution

Download MSI afterburner, and set your stock clocks on profile one, then go to settings and on 3d/2d mode set profile one to both of them. Also make sure you have the latest drivers.

As i mentioned it seems to be everywhere with lots of different solutions

oh right I have never clocked anything and its all been default since I installed the card.

no idea about clock speeds or whatnot.

Just annoying as its a new monitor

You don't need to worry about clockspeeds

Afterburner will automatically detect them! Just save them to profile one without changing anything!

Still flicking must be doing something wrong.

I have orderd a dvi to hdmi cable too to see if that helps

Okay boss let us know what goes on with that sorry that afterburner trick didn't work.

I think the best thing to do really is also keep checking around google all i searched was 5870 second screen flicker and it came up with hundreds of alternate solutions!
