674miles £90quid in petrol 9 hours and a sore knee later....

 is all I can say to the driving down south, went from here in fife to stoke on trent. had Lots of people flying up my rear bumper at 95mph and flashing you out the way, cutting each other up on the m6 at every opportunity, tailgaiting, sharp breaking and crazy lorry drivers aswell.

Just thought I would salute you all down there for driving like nutters everyday and surviving lol. when I got back over the border was such a relief :p

ps. was down lookin at a 4.2 A8, and I want it. couldnt find overclockers though, forgot the address and couldnt find it on my tomtom.

stoke on trent isnt exactly south is it? London is mate ;) The Driving style down here is preety aggresive imo.

It's south of Manchester isn't it

I have a similar problem anytime I drive up north, everybody drives so bloody slowly :p I don't speed, but no-one is in a hurry to get anywhere up north...

Lol thought you needed a visa to travel further north than London tbh ;)

I agree, there should definitely be border control to keep you lot down there :p

Stoke is definatly the north, being a southerner who lived near there for a year! As for finding ocuk, its a pain until you've done it once!!!

When you've done Essex to Aberdeen and back in a weekend I'll think that was a long journey. And my car was made in 1983. No sore knee cos it's comfortable :) 1119 miles IIRC.

I do around 200 miles a day and travel all over, the worst place for crap drivers has to be Birmingham. I can't say I've found motorway driving to be an aggressive experience, people flashing you at 95mph is a little extreme. And Stoke-on-Trent is NOT south.

As a Northerner living in the south I have found that down here people are much quicker at roundabouts, traffic lights and junctions (which I like :) )

But people are painfully slow in a 60 limit sometimes, and don't know which lane to use on the motorway. (The outside is not for 60mph) :(

Some of the roads near my parent’s house (up north) the average speed is about 80 in a 60 limit that is single carriageway even at 'rush hour' :)

I like the drives down South, I go to Donnington and Silverstone often and have been to Leicester and Millbrook with work too.
Worst part is always the strtch to Newcastle, after that it's fine, you just get settled into the journey.
I once went with a mate to Horsham (South of London) and back in one day to pick up a car!
One thing I've found, I usually have to go South to get a decent motor.

hehe, it's not easy to find. I got lost in Stoke somewhere, somehow ended up driving down a bus lane:confused: then by chance saw a sign to Fenton, followed that and found the IMEX business park:p

Best drive I ever had down south was when I went to westy's in Dorset for the RR last July.

Set off from North Manchester at 7pm, had a great trip along the M6 doing about 75-80mph and then onto the M5, which was absolutely empty. Did some naughty speeds along there just admiring the view and then onto the M4.

Came off the M4 to be greeted by miles and miles of twisty roads. Awesome.

Finally pulled up outside Ben's house at 11:45pm

I think the worst down here, on a NSL road, is people taking the corners like they're 90 degree, about 30mph then speading up to 60-65 when your on one of the very few straights where you can overtake.
