first water build (pics :) )

Oh dear, Some of these picture are giving me cravings.

Which isn't good, because I'm pretty sure I'll end up flooding my motherboard.

the mobo doesnt have to get flooded if you leak test and air it before you put any hardware in :D

Think that would be a Lian Li v2000. Might want to checks stevos sig :P

Quick question stevo, doesn't look like you have your gpu in the loop so i would think that your useing the nice side pci slot cooler, but is it sucking or blowing with a gts dual slot cooler i was woundering what would be best? (have one myself but going for an x2)

Excellent build man, am becoming very tempted to go water with all these build logs around, need a new case first though lol

Very tidy build! Liking the sharks behind the kama bays too.

*punches air cooled pc* stupid air !

the gpu is my next task thats if artic dont release a new cooler for the 8800gts (g92)

the side fan is indeed an intake fan i also have 2 out takes just above the gpu so there is no build up of hot air in the top of the case so my temps for my gpu idle at around 35/38c and loads are around 50c when gaming

heres some pics of the final (i say final but when is computer building ever final lol) case, i would really like to have a second loop in there for my gpu but the only place thats viable(sp) is on the back :(

enjoy and thanks for the comments guys

I hate you and your thread for inspiring me to do things that I really shouldn't even attempt!

Excellent work matey ;)

lol you love me really :p and if i have inspired at least one person to go out there and either watercool there rig or mod there case then am happy with that :D

Cant believe i missed this when it was going on.

Very good job on your 1st attempt at water cooling dude. Mine was poorly thought out and in a v1k, ended up loosing most of my pci slots and front 5.25" bays due to mounting the PA120.2 in the roof. All good fun though.

I have since migrated it over to a v2k too, awesome cases to work with, and once i get my arse into gear and cut up my side panels like yours, i'll get the build log up :)

i was going to start a new thread but thought that its all the same so keep it in here

any way after my first water build was a semi success in that it didnt leak and dropped my temps a lot i new i needed to do some work on my case to help it out so heres some pics for ya, still have the mounting holes to drill and clean up then i can get on with my side panels the radgrill holes where done with a dremel (one of the discs shattered on me and i got a piece on my top lip fooker wouldnt stop bleeding lol) on with the pics

rad grill bottom

rad grill top

edit

think i have found my unofficial sponsor 2 more of them came today lol

3x front intakes
2x top exhaust
1x side intake
1x back exhaust
4x rad in push/pull

got some trimming to do but i really like it what you guys think

are the hex bolts holding the grill to the case or are they holding the fans too? if they arent what screws did you use to hold the fans to the grill?

I think , i can see some silver/black screws just on the inside of the grill, think that means he screwed the fans to the grill, then grill to case... i think :p

nice man i though your front drive bay fans was another rad :D for a second

Don’t give him ideas :D

Steveo did you get that Lian Li 120mm Fan Bracket from ocuk? the one that cools the gfx card and also your pci cards. I know the code is BS-02 but can’t find it anywhere. I have a similar solution but its just not as cool looking and also isnt located as well.

Looking very good btw!

i did try to mount the rad in the front but it was to tall :( shame

the fan bracket came with the v2000 am afriad i no you can buy them as a unit but have never seen them about on the net either in the uk or us :(

thanks for the kind words as well guys my next purchase is a asus sound card to replace the none working xfi fatalty crap that i have in there now, last time i jump on the creative band wagon

Ah you lucky blighter! you have the Plus II case then.

I have just found out that 120mm Fan Bracket is no longer available in the UK, oh well.

Had the same problem, I ended up mounting my cpu 120.3 rad up the back of the case, externally mounted and my gpu 120.1 rad located in the same area where your rad is. all that in a V1000 case!!! :D

Great!! another person not helping fuel the creative world domination plan
