First Watercooling Build! What have I got wrong?

Haha, and I was thinking of a front bay fan controller too! Although I think the PWM connection on the Luxe should manage that for me. That fill option sounds good to me, I'll grab a bit of flexi tubing and a funnel :)

Its a shame the Corsair Air Series stats seem so terrible, they're the only decent purple I can find. I may go with uncoloured rad fans but I did like the idea of them glimmering through the top shroud on the case.

There are SP120's in purple, though you've probably noticed that they're not in stock.
Phanteks F120SP are good, but they only have white, green and blue...

If you did want a bay fan controller, you can either just slide it out when you're filling, or just connect the cables to it after you've filled. Most controllers come with fairly long extension cables, so it should be doable.

Almost there then! 5 of those, one front, one back, three for the rad. One set of Phantek lights for the inside, one UV strip... I think that takes care of it? :)

Looks like it :)
The only thing I'm slightly iffy about is the amount of rad, but then I generally go for more than is strictly necessary, so... Guess it depends on how low you want your temps to be really.

The general rule of thumb I read was 120.1 per component being cooled + an extra 120.1 for the pot. With a pretty beefy CPU and GPU though I do share your concern... would an extra 120.1 on the back end make a significant difference? Would knacker my airflow though as I imagine the fan would need to pull cool air from outside through the rad to the inside? Gah...

Right, I'm reviewing the Screen and the PSU still, but other than that, here we go!

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £2,649.00
(includes shipping: £28.02)

ED: I've run through a few piping diagrams and most will require a few right-angles, so I've stuck 5 in so that I can assess properly once I have all the components in

The general rule of thumb works well enough. It's basically not much more than minimum requirements though. Don't get me wrong, that rad will cover you, temps will be lower than air and nothing's going to overheat or anything like that.
It's just that I like to see WC temps being a lot lower, for whatever difference that makes - not to mention that the more rad space you have, the lower the fan speeds you can run.

An extra 120 would make a bit of a difference, though maybe not enough to justify sacrificing in other areas.

Oh, are you sure you want to run a single 980Ti @4K without G-Sync at least? Pricey though...

Yeah better to ask in that section, as I'm certainly not the man for monitor recommendations.

I'd also have a look at Superflower and EVGA for your PSU.

Getting a larger PSU for SLI/Crossfire is fair enough, but I did that and am now going to purchase myself a new GPU instead of going for SLI. I don't find it cost effective to purchase a single GPU and then go for SLI later.

Depends on a few variables and the individual tbh.

In his case, he's likely going for 4K and might find his 980Ti could do with a friend.
On a side note, he'll have to get another case or figure out a way to get another rad in there if he does though :p
