Fitted shirts

Anyone have any recommendations on where to find decently fitted shirts.
I've got a 42" chest and a 35" waist which seems to mean anything I find to fit across my chest bellows out at the waist giving me a nice tent type look
I find I can get away with some of the slim fit styles you get in places like Burton but they can be a bit tight over my chest and on my arms.
The only other option I can think of is buying shirts to fit my chest and then having them tailored into my waist.
I'm not looking to spend huge amounts of money.

Primark, for work shirts. Could not care less what I wear to work as I don't need to look any more presentable than necessary! Bargain at £6 too. A evening or dress shirt when I don't need to move around so much and I'll happily pay a premium for but I just don't see the point with a work shirt.

17" neck, slim fit fits me quite nicely but does tent out sloghtly at the bottom on the front. (34" waist, 46" chest). Plenty of room in the arms too. Also plenty of space around the back for reaching forward to a keyboard, despite having pleats so it doesn't tent out at the beck. Had a few people comment saying they like my shirts and are surprised when I say they're 'primarni' :p:cool:

Hmm, how about for T-shirts? Who sells a good range of 'fitted' T-shirts (I think that's what they're called)?

For work I just find the cheapest black shirts I can baggys not a problem I need lots of movement and more than once it's ended up torn and in the bin before the end of my shift anyway :D
I need to pop into primarni tomorrow for some holiday stuff so I'll have a nosey round the shirts

As rossyl said, Charles Tyrwhitt or TM Lewin - I find the slim fit ones are pretty good.

The TM Lewin fully fitted shirts are pretty good, they are quite hard to iron properly though.

Unless you're a total beefcake you'll be fine.

My chest when I was at the peak of my training was 54-56... The clothes you get for a chest that big are crazily huge!

Tents tbh. The assumption that to have a large chest and a waist that is bigger is annoying :(
I think the average difference in chest to waist is 6", so why when you want a 50"+ shirt do they not have smaller waist!! barstewards :(

If i could tailor my own clothes i'd give it a try!

Exactly. I am a 44/46inch chest and a 38 waist. 6 Inches would be grand, but oh no, anyone who doesn't fit Topshop measurements these days has a waist equal to their chest size.

My issue is buying dress shirts though: my neck is 17.5 inches which means shirts I buy are long in the arm and baggy everywhere else. Grawr.

Yeah thats another thing. I have a bigish neck, i dont have ape like long arms though!

I have a weird problem where my shoulders don't actually fit into the armholes of stuff which is otherwise the right chest size. Had to get a 46" chest suit jacket to actually fit my arms in the sleeves, then get it taken down to like 42" so it wasn't billowing around my gut like a tent.

Another shout for TM Lewin, the slim fits from there fit me perfect and I'm normally somewhere near tent status like OP. Their tailored fit is even slimmer if you need...

Looks like I'll be having a look around TM Lewin next time I'm over in Brum, cheers for all the replys :)

Another +1 for TM Lewin, Charles Tyrwhitt & Thomas Pink.

One thing to note is that the majority of 'slim fit' shirts are double cuff, not sure why...

hmmm i'm 50" chest with 36-38 waist... has to be said i only ever have problems with formal shirts as i need a 18.5" or 19" collar and it looks like a sail on me.

Matalan do some decent stuff, alternatively i'd recommend lonsdale tee's
