fitting a HD from a different PC.

Hi, i have a hard drive in my old PC which has all my music and photo's etc on. Im just wondering how i would go about of fitting it into my new pc which is sata but the older HD is IDE. The older HD also has a operating system. Will this be a problem? If not how would i go about fitting it?

So what about there being a windows on it? Will that not affect it? Also will it just be under my computer?

ok ive just doen that and its picked up fine etc. but now that i try and access documents and settings and then Ryan Crossland (my name and documents) it says access denied! Thats the main folder that i need!. Anyone help?

There is no Security tab only general, sharing and customise.
