hi does anyone have any experience/approximate pricings for fitting a universal backbox which has no backpipe or hangers?

it has like a 2-3" flange coming out the back but would require some tubing and welding. it would also requires the hangers making up and welding on...

anyone done anything like this?

if you buy the correct backbox for the car. i.e an astra back box for an astra then no welding is needed and they all fit together with nuts and bolts very easy.

With a universal backbox i would think a garage needs to weld on some brackets and probably have to weld the backbox to the rest of the exhuast due to it being a universal fit (it is technically imposible for a backbox connection to fitr every car's exhuast). I'd say in the region of 150-170quid saying the backbox is 80-100quid.

all in all i'd say get a backbox made for your car and fit yourself, its very very easy :)
hope this helps

hi, thanks for yuour input! yea i know it would be easier to ge one made for my car, but i have found a cheapy bargain but it doesnt have the hangers so i was just trying to work out if it would save cash in the long run.

I've done it many times, not difficult to do but having the car up on a ramp makes things a lot easier! If you have a welder and know how to use it it's all quite straightforward.
