just going to fit my cpu to my motyherboard but noticed that a bit of force maybe needed to put the latch down and hook inplace, should there be force needed to do this?

i have not fitted yet as i didnt want to force and break anything, cheers for any info

Yep, they do need a bit of force to lock the gate into position, as long as you have the cpu mounted properly in the socket, your good to go.

Constant, steady pressure to press the lever down, then a bit of force sideways to hook it into place. Just use your finger and don't be too rough ;)

Yes, I wondered why there was more force needed on the UD7 lever compared to other mbds that i have. Anyway I went ahead and have had no trouble with my i7 cpu working as advertised.
