Hey...

Aftet some advice please.

My niece has got a new laptop for xmas but it only has 1 stick if 4gb ddr4 ram in

I'v fitted more ram in the past to laptops, vut the only thing different is you can't remove the battery on this new one and was worried about fitting ram while it still has power going to it.

Is it ok to fit it even though the battery is still connected?

I don't want to kill her xmas prezzie lol

Cheers guys and happy xmas

I've fitted no end of ram upgrades / changes whilst a fixed battery is still connected. Take the regular precautions for static etc. Obviously power the laptop down.

Not to say it's impossible for it to hurt it, can't always say that when working with electronics. Batteries that can't be removed usually can be disconnected by stripping the laptop down further. Which probably has higher risks than just changing the ram easily though!
