Hi I have maybe slipped up a bit I have got all my parts for build and unfortunately not able to build till Xmas as back to work now, but I have bought a 980 Pro with heatsink and now I'm thinking should I have got it without as it has the plates already in place, is this the case thanks. I don't think I can take of the pre installed heatsink as it may damage module so will have to change it if that's the case any help greatly appreciated, also sorry if this has been asked before

If you want to use the heatsinks, provided with the motherboard then you need the bare drive version of the 980 Pro. There is a definite risk in removing the preinstalled heatsink from the 980 Pro as it will void your warranty.

I was going to say just remove the board heatsink, or use an M.2 slot without one, but it looks like it covers the chipset and all the M.2 slots :o
