I’m in the process of fitting some cloud 9 11mm underlay in a couple of rooms and I’m struggling to get a neat cut my Stanley knife even with a brand new branded blade doesn’t want to cut it. Am I missing a trick is there a better tool or blade for this? I’ve never had a problem in the past but have only fitted thinner rubber backed stuff!

Hmm I can't recall it being that difficult to cut through. I suppose it's pretty thick stuff, so you might have to cut and then go over again to get through it.

I actually wonder if you'd be better off with some heavy duty scissors.

I agree, look for carpet scissors or shears on Amazon, they'll make light work of it.

Thanks all, scissors might be worth a look I gave a whole house to do so small investments in tools aren’t a problem! Had more luck the afternoon by being more positive and confident with the knife if that makes sense, it’s been years since I did this last!

I fitting some thick stuff recently (might even have been 12mm). I used a new blade and just had to go over the cut twice, could get maybe 3/4s of the way through on the first cut.
