Five dead and more than 40 injured including 12 kids as driver mows down Wisconsin Christmas parade

But her opinion is not that of fact. Which was @VincentHanna's point.

Until the motive is on record, we won't know for sure either way.

That being said, the situation is tragic and my thoughts go out to the victims and their families as regardless of motive - this is another senseless loss of life.

Got to ask.

How can his post be fact\point when you say "Until the motive is on record, we won't know for sure either way."

So Ritterhouse got a $2 million bail fee. This guy a $1,000 bail fee for trying to kill his girlfriend by running over her.
That's not right.

And unlike many Republicans faced consequences from people in her own party, which suggests it's not a common thought or acceptable to the rest of the party.

I’m not sure she has, she’s stepped down from her role but is there anything official to say they’ve taken action or removed her from the party etc..?

Well when a Republican can go around sharing depictions of them killing a Democratic representative and not be punished by his side, does it really matter?

Any action at all would be above what is apparently expected.

Very sad. The sixth death was a 8 year old boy. Many others are still in critical condition. 60 now reported injured, mostly children.

Bail has been set at $5m which may sound high. However It is not much for those he is affiliated with. I am surprised bail was not refused considering his past history of skipping bail. However I do not know the law there. The rap sheet is worryingly long.

Blimey - so he's previously fired a gun at his cousin and also tried to run over the mother of his child or somehting? So two previous incidents that came close to being attempted murder charges.

Even found with an illegal gun while a convicted fellon. The US seems to be full of extremes, in some locations there are ridiculously harsh sentences handed out for drugs or non-violent crimes and of course people who've fallen foul of very harsh three strikes and you're out laws etc.. then in other locations, you have some super soft touch approaches to crime where the pendulum has swung too far the other way, shop lifters aren't charged, even very violent criminals can plea their way down to much lesser charges etc..

I'm still a bit skeptical about this being ruled out as a sort of terror attack, he doesn't seem to have been pursued when he did it and labeling it a terror attack keeps much more attention on the case that the local authorities probably don't want, especially if they've been a bit soft/naive with this guy in the past.

These killings were absolutely intentional.
Pity they don't have the death penalty in that state.

The reporting is interesting... he's now a man accused of a "crash"...

That seems to be a fair statement based on what is known.

Has it been proved he went their with only the intent of killing lots of people or what it a horrendous crash after he was being chased by police and he ended up there.

So instead of forcing him to live for the next ~50+ years in prison you'd prefer that he gets rewarded with a short life instead? Seems paradoxical to me.

3 square meals a day and free health.
He will live better than he ever has.

Bring back Old Sparky. On a low setting :)

Police confirmed they weren't chasing him plus he didn't hit a few folks who surprised him, he drove through barriers closing off the road then actively steered into some groups of people whilst also slowing and steering away from others before then speeding back up into a last group (from the videos so far) before smashing through a final set of barriers to escape.

I can see the claim of "I didn't expect the road to be filled with people" IF he hadn't gone through a first of barriers or if he'd stopped after hitting the first group but I'm still not convinced the "I was just running away and crashed" plea will hold any water in court. Whether it was a pre-planned and deliberate act (not sure myself) or an idiot making constant bad decisions (well I've hit a few folks, might as well keep going etc) he's going to spend the rest of his life locked away would be my guess.
