Afternoon guys,

Just touching up on an problem I never fixed which is now causing me issues more frequent.

I bought a AMD 8320 - closed loop cooler bundle few years back which is still going strong pumps enough juice for my setup an no plans for VR just yet.

Yesterday I changed my closed loop cooler stock fans after the noise just became too much during gaming sessions.

Fitted two new new two Noctua NF-S12B REDUX 700RPM 120mm Quiet Case Fan which im so impressed with the noise levels are amazing I didn't expect such great results.

Unfortunately I got a little too excited when they arrived and just installed them straight away so I totally forgot to log the cpu temps with old fans installed.

The thing im concerned about is there aint much blowing out with these not much power etc where was the old ones were very power and used to in a way cool my hand when I checked.

After playing CSGO for 2hrs straight last night my cpu temp was 59o this temp seem fine?

That's my old post yes I got shot down in flames on that thread as I fitted weak as **** case fans to my cooler :D my bad I never fixed this for some reason I never hit any problems playing csgo.

Now I have since fallen out of love with CSGO "RIP skins" so started playing GTA5 or attempting to as computer keeps shutting down getting some serious CPU temps now.

I need to fix this now so would you just fit a couple of new fans or better to stick a new PSU heatsink?

A lot of reading there's not much in them to be honest performance wise?

Two new fans is prob half the price of the HSF.

You didnt say what the closed loop cooler is so can't help... Given this is in the overclocking thread is the CPU overclocked and if so more details please. GTA5 is much more intensive than plain old CS so stresses things a great deal more, probably maxing out your CPU and GPU raising the case temps but again you didnt list the GPU either.

Dude you still don't list what the closed loop cooler is?? Nor does the other thread... We need to know what the CPU cooler is before we can comment on fans etc - you have got a closed loop liquid cooler like this havent you? Or you're confused...

Which one you got? Your screens shots aren't even there either...

sorry man this is the bundle I bought, http://www.legitreviews.com/amd-fx-8150-black-edition-cpu-water-cooler-review_1743

The AMD kit resembles the Antec Kuhler 920 the closest. From what we have been told, it’s basically the same as the Antec Kuhler 920 but with cosmetic tweaks and Chill Control software tweaks

What i'm still not sure of is if you have the two Notcua fans on this 120mm rad or not - is that correct? If so you might have cocked up your push pull and be running the fans at each other. Those fans are case fans though and really low RPM... For the rad you really just want a good static pressure fan which is going to cost you about £10 so its much cheaper than a new AIO unless the old one is truly dead.

Worth checking, take one off and see if it improves airflow. Other things to do is hoover out the rad carefully if its dusty and reapply the thermal paste to the CPU block.

sorry about my arse-end thread.

I took the plunge and picked up a pair or Corsair Air Series 120mm PWM.

Ran GTA5 on max for a couple of hours and no problems at all and temps around 50o so happy and no random crashes or shut downs.

Ready for the BF1 beta now :)
