Just re-installed (since I managed to cut too much stuff out with a slipstream last time) and have finally got it almost right - minus the log off button but thats no biggie as I'm the only user on this PC.

Anyway before the format I had:

C:/10GB/Windows + Programs
D:/290GB/Random Downloads/Storage
E:/300GB/Music & Games etc.

Post reformat I now have:

C:/300GB/Music & Games
D:/10GB/Windows + Programs
E:/290GB/Random Downloads/Storage

Whilst the system runs absolutely fine it's confusing the hell out of me and I want it back the way it was :)

Using Admin Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management is no good as it see's C: as a System drive (can't assign new letter) and it also see's D: as the boot drive - same problem.

How can I fix this?

I've had this problem before. I unplugged all other drives except the Windows drive before booting to the setup CD. That's the only way i could find of changing the drive letters as i came across the same problem as you with the system and boot drives.

Either that or i would backup all data and then reformat/re-partition all drives but remember to partition and format the Windows one first so that it is assigned to C:

So is this more to do with the way the drives are physically connected to the mobo then?

Seems like it's gonna be a pain tbh :)

/me wanders off to have a tinker :)
