Hey all,

I've finally found the solution to my problems with the XtremeMusic.

Near the top right corner of the card is a floppy power connector that the docs say is for powering the I/O panel when its connected.

Well it might be, but it also thankfully solves ALL my X-Fi problems when I connect a power connector to it. Remove this, and I'm back in lockup / BSOD land.

I bought an OEM version (One with the heatsink) and I put it into my system and I never got a problem. Before adding this card to my system I acctually just downloaded the latest drivers. Works perfectly. :)

MoodyB, glad you have yours working, did you have other problems with your X-fi other that BSOD/lockups?
thx

I did have it working.... untill I powered the pc off for the night and restarted it the following morning. Same old symptoms returned.

I've wasted enough time trying to get it to work, so I'm back with onboard audio until I can find the patience to tackle it again. Also getting nowhere with Creative's support, they just keep ignoring most of my questions and say its a motherboard compatability problem and I should test the card in another pc.
