Fixing a Windows 2003 boot issue.

Hi guys,

I have a win2k3 boot error after accidently trying to boot from a cd that was intended for xp. Basically my server gets as far as the hardware checks and then when it gets to looking for the os, chucks out 'LI' and prevents any further interaction

What should I be trying from the boot disc to repair things?

Well 1 find yours 2003 disc and check what is still there(partition etc).

Id then go into recovery console to chkdsk and fixboot. Worst case would be you just partialy installed xp on your server .

Thanks mate! It wasn't an xp boot disc, it was a bootable software disc intended for xp... I hope nothings been overwritten

Fingers crossed, the recovery console will sort me out!
