I'm not sure such a thing exists. The whole point of a credit card is that you're spending money that you pay back later.. it's like a short-term loan.
Well, it exists but it's called a debit card as opposed to a credit card :)

I may just get a card that only lets me spend what's in my account then.
As others have said that's a debit card, and lots of things only accept credit cards for security and insurance reasons (plus they get their money, whether you have it or not). Just get a credit card and only use it for this game and then set it up so it's paid automatically. Then you can just leave the credit card in a safe place and never use it. Then you can't go into debt as long as you have at least £15 or whatever it is in your account each month.

Before you guys go jumping off the deep end slagging this guy off for not having a credit card, I seem to remember he (apologies if it was someone else) had a thread in here a year or soo back in which he mentioned that he can't work due to mental problems or similar - so it's probably not that easy for him to get credit without a recent record of employment.

Debit cards for the win tbh.

Your sorley mistaken if thats what you think.. Credit cards, despite requireing a watchful eye on your spending are much more secure and better protected.

A CreditCard like EGG money is idle for a newcomer as it simply transfers your "spending allowence" onto the card and then you know exactly what you have to spend each month.

You ever get intereest on + money in your account each month. Plus 1% cashback on all purchases and only 7.9% APR on all negative equity.

If you're 27 surely you can apply for a credit card? Only use it online, and set up a direct debit to pay it all off at the end of every month. Easy peasy.

Not many places at all, especially not online games, accept Paypal.

I hate to be the one to say it but you need to learn to moderate your own spending. When you decide to buy a house you are going to be up poo creek without a credit card.

If it really bothers you most credit card companies have online facilities and you can set it up to pay off the balance of your account every month.

Yeah that was me :) . I get stressed very easy because I have a mild form of autism called Aspergers syndrome. I get can get extremely depressed and anxious if stressed and I get stressed easily because I see the world differently because my brain works differently. I won't go into to much detail into that has there's so much to it.

Anyway I'm seeing going to this new organisation that helps people back into work with Aspergers. So I hope it helps. :) Being on job seekers has had me all stressed as they expect me to get a straight back into work. Don't get me wrong I want to get back to work but I want something I can hold down and not become ill again. That's why I'm getting the help.

Fairplay for saying that mate! Before you said this I was going to jump on the LOL bandwagon but I'm glad I didnt after reading what you said. The pre-paid card sounds like a good idea but at the same time that sounds a little dodgy to me.

Personally I would beg your parents, etc to trust you on this one ;)

Sorry to hear that dude, puts knee-jerk internet comments into perspective hearing things like that, people shouldn't be so quick to judge but hey... this is 'tinternet. :)

What I suggest you do is go for a good credit card like GE Money, which I have personally http://www.gemoney.co.uk/en/credit_card/ge_credit_card.html

Once registered and setup it has an excellent "online banking" facility like most places nowadays... I do all of my banking etc exclusively online it just can't be beat unless you have more specific problem. Set the card up so that it is linked via direct debit to your bank account and the full outstanding amount automatically paid off via direct debit each month.

That way you can put small monthly subscription-based things on it like games and not even have to worry about it because you will be guaranteed that it will be cleared and paid off each month. As you grow more confident with it you can then in the future start using it for purchases and enjoy the extra protection that this provides, and just bear in mind that whatsver you buy, the balance will come out of your main bank account at the end of every month, rather than instantly, and as long as you select to pay off the full outstanding amount you will never be charged interest. Hope that helps a bit. :)
