Flash 3GS data to new 3GS?

Hi all I have an iPhone 3GS that is on loan from a friend, Unfortunately she wants it back ASAP.

I'm so used to the phone and it does all I require it to that I'm thinking about picking up a 2nd hand 3GS cheap..

Can I flash my old 3GS data to a new one (much like doing a ghost image of a HDD on pc?)

In iTunes you could just backup the device and restore to the new one? That'll do exactly what you want.

I'd be looking at something newer like a 4S, will cost more (have no clue how much) but will last longer and give a much better experience overall.

My ex had the 4S and had nothing but issues, she had it replced twice because the Wifi stopped working and the new OS 7 wasn't my cup of tea
Really just want another 3GS I'm not a big user of mobiles apps especially but the 3GS is handy for those times I do need something they should be pretty cheap now too

Painfully slow is it not? Be better off with a Moto G or a Lumia 520 IMO

I would personally go with the Moto G/Lumia 520 as well. Cheap yet still outperforms the 3GS.

Exactly which data do you need to transfer? Contacts can be easily exported and imported.

I'd get a 4S. I went from a 3GS to a 4S and it has a huge upgrade.

Not too fussed about speed of phone infact this is quick enough for my needs although would like something with a much better camera. Will look into some of the suggestions here thanks peeps
