Flash adverts

Is it me or are they getting more and more annoying? I was just browsing The Register site and this one jumped out, I didn't notice the Close button at first:

It makes me actually not carry on reading/browsing if a site has such user-unfriendly advertising.. anyone else find this sort of thing really annoying?

yeah those are annoying, they follow you when you scroll which is the worst part, pain in the jacksie

I'm not bothered by static adverts, but anything that moves I will need to remove. MSN ones were really annoying until I blocked the domain(s) they were coming from (Around 30 blocked in the end!)

Yep, see them all the time, especially during the browsing session before bed.

It's annoying because they take up the whole screen and the close button only appears 2 seconds after.

Anotter vote for ABP, can't fault it. Well, it slows down page loading times slightly, but it's WELL worth it.

I think "Adblock" and "Adblock Plus" are two different plugins. Adblock hasn't had a update in a long time while Adblock plus is still worked on.

Just in case any of you were using Adblock

Yeah, I posted an old picture. I do in fact have the little red 'ABP' symbol down there now and not what that picture shows.

I haven't seen one of those ads in ages! Amazing how quickly you forget the annoying browsing experiences with ABP installed.

I'm still using the old Adblock with the older filter set and I don't see ads.

I might try Adblock Plus though just to be sure I'm not missing something.
