Flash Development - I want to start, so have some questions

I am an ASP.NET dev for a largish digital agency and want to try some new things So i thought i would give Flash a go. I have a few questions which i have put below, and i hope someone can help me out.

- What is the best environment for coding ActionScript?
- Are there any good resource websites out there? or sites on the general use of Flash? (not necesarily just tutorial sites)

I will ask our Flash guy at work next week, but i thought i would try here first.

Yes you can, but from what I read the action script editor within flash isn't very good. That's why people use external editors. Where i work, the flash guy says SEPY is what he uses: http://www.sephiroth.it/python/sepy.php

However, I can't tell the difference yet as I'm doing nub stuff at the mo.
