Flash is "not installed" even though it is?

Hey guys I've got an unusual and weird problem here. I've just installed Vista Ultimate SP1 on to a Dell XPS 1210. Even though Flash works in browser, according to the control panel it is not installed. I can't actually physically install it either because I cannot find a executable. Any ideas?

Maybe you only installed a Plugin?

How would I tell? I was directed to the Adobe flash site and was asked to download it from here:- http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

The little movie plays suggesting it is installed?

I had the same problem, think I needed to download the standalone installer and run it under elevated credentials.
