flash performance

[email protected], 8gb ram, hd 7950@1050/1500. (all very much stable)

flash games can use up to about 30% cpu usage, and then they'll start lagging like mad at some point... examples of games tested are bloons tower defense and mutilate-a-doll. first noticed poor flash performance when having a few hd youtube vids opened, so i tested some flash games and the performance is not what i'd expect. supposedly good specs but crazy flash lagging... is that normal? and with such low cpu, gpu, ram usage?

thanks

This is what I'd try..
In this order.

Try Chrome (built in Flash)
Update Flash (Firefox and IE versions)
Update graphics card drivers

New graphics card drivers.

chrome or canary (in other words versions 23 and 24), using pepper flash. just tried the latest firefox with the latest flash. using catalyst 12.10 whql, but i've had this issue for months, i just didn't pay attention or care because everything else has been perfect...

http://www.kongregate.com/games/0rava/mutilate-a-doll

using that game as an example with hardware acceleration enabled, it starts slugging out after pressing space ~10 times (spawning ~10 dolls) - realtemp reports ~30% cpu usage. when i say slugging out i mean it'll freeze for at least 30 seconds, or stop responding. with hardware accel disabled, it gets really slow and eventually stops responsing after ~30-40 spawns, with ~35% cpu usage.

obviously hardware acceleration is making things worse, but even with it disabled flash is stuttering and unresponsive, with cpu usage staying well below 100%. am i to understand that after 12 hours p95 blend, 12 hours p95 small fft, 30 passes ibt, 12 hours hci memtest, and 3 hours memtest86+ stable, flash is revealing system instability within seconds? nothing else has given me cpu(?) stability problems for months, and i've had no whea errors. at stock 3.4ghz (3.8ghz boost) settings the issues remain :/. not that bummed out, it's not like i need amazing flash performance - but if it means system is unstable then obviously that's something i care about.

p.s

i have a question specifically about the graphics card. is it normal that flash hardware acceleration is just plain weird on my hd 7950? drivers from 12.4 till now are all the same - hardware acceleration checkbox ticked in chrome pepper flash or firefox flash plugin lower flash performance. flash games lag more with hardware accel on, but the thing is box checked or no, afterburner and gpu-z report the exact same usage stats. ticked or not afterburner says no, there's no gpu usage going on at all, gpu-z says there's about 30% gpu usage going on either way. both report vram usage...
