Flash problem

I keep getting message flash not installed, have installed it countless times, but still get same message, that it is not installed.
bit of a pain as I cant view videos.
OS is Vista business so IE7, all updates are done.

have you tried a standalone .exe file?

Thanks but still dont work using a standalone exe.
its weird because if I go straight to Youtube all the vids work fine, but any link from this forum, I get you need the latest version of Flash player.

Have you tried deleting the Flash add on from IE7. Tools - Manage Add-ons - Enable or Disable add-ons. Select, Add-ons currently used by Inernet Explorer - highlight Flash and delete, then reinstall it?

Delete is greyed out so cant get rid of it.
Comes up as Shockwave flash object.

try starting ie7 in safe mode (no addons). then you should be able to delete it.

(programs>accessories>system tools)

Nope wont allow it, its a bugger.
