I have a lot of SWFs on my machine, mainly just old comedy clips & memes. They're associated with Firefox 4.0 and when I try to launch one, the OS says it can't play because another instance of Firefox is running. If I save the FF session, close it then launch the SWF, it starts a new FF session so it's not ideal. I just want the SWF to open as a new tab in an existing FF session. I then tried it in Media Player Classic and although it allegedly supports SWFs, it returns "can't create shockwave control". Next, I tried the Brothersoft freebie SWF viewer but it wanted to install browser toolbars and change a multitude of settings, so being the untrusting person I am (spyware etc), I bailed out of that. I of course already have the Adobe Flash Player installed. As a last resort, I'm looking for its install path so that I can associate SWFs directly with the flash player EXE. I've looked in Program Files, Program Files x86 and system32 and not a sausage. Nothing helpful when googling or on Adobe's site either. Any thoughts? Thanks.

You can click and drag images into the firefox window, they will open in the tab you were on. I don't know if it works the same for SWFs but it's worth a try.

Thanks guys. I got KM Player installed but it didn't react at all to SWF files (although it gave out the media info ok). I then tried drag-and-drop into an FF window and that worked great. It just doesn't seem to like double click from Explorer. Thanks though :-)
