Flashback or bios flash

Could also use efi flash
From usb drive and cmd

In the old days I do remember boards
With no option to flash within bios
Would expect it to be pretty standard nowadays
But I guess some prebuilt pcs may have customised bios
So it's probably possible
I would prefer efi flash over doing it in windows
But again in the past I have done it plenty times
Using windows utilities
But it's more of a buttock clinching moment lol

Friends computer only has windows util, no option to flash in bios itself.

I'm not doing it lol
What? What brand is it?

Should be fine to do it in Windows but I agree that it’s less risky doing it in the BIOS.

A few manufacturers like HP, DELL, Lenovo do BIOS updates in Windows (my HP Elitebook laptop for instance) and they sometimes can push a BIOS update via Windows update.

I’d do things like disable the antivirus and close all unused apps before running the update just as a precaution.
