My cpu was idling at around 25c prior to flashing the bios, now its up at 46c!!!! This is very worrying, should I revert back to the origional bios? Speedfan shows the same increase.

Went from 0204 or something to 0404

Obviously we need the spec of your pc, at least the motherboard/ cpu mate.
Sorry, I just wrote a post, forgot that I didn't give information in this one. P5k premium, q6600, 4x1gb geil pc6400 black dragons. Temps seem a bit better now but still higher than they were!

were you experiencing any motherboard instability or associated problems that required you to re flash to the updated Bios?

There are a few possible options here as I see it.
1) It could be that the temperature is now being picked up correctly and what you saw before was too low.
2) The temperature sensors have been affected badly by the bios flash and so read higher.
3) The bios flash has caused your CPU to be under a constant state of partial load (I'm assuming that full load is still higher).

If the system works fine then I wouldn't worry about it too much. What cooler are you using?
