Flashforward

Pretty good so far. Slightly hesitant to get too excited though as this series has the inherent problem of the producers putting off an explanation while a show is popular, then giving a rubbish explanation to wrap it up when it starts to slip in the ratings...

Honestly though it was a bit rubbish to start with. Cringed at the Oceanic Airlines poster and the kangaroo. Shaping up to be a poor mans lost. Was pretty intrigued by the ending though. Will def watch ep2 before giving up completely.

Was too, well, badly done it felt. How after well, the city almost completely fell apart, crashed cars EVERYWHERE, thousands of injured people, end of the day the doctor wife just drives home without a problem.

Surely, in a city with thousands of injuries, if not 10k's of injuries, was she not still at work, how the hell did they get home, how did the massive amount of destruction, death just seemingly melt away in 3 seconds?

Something that seemed so obvious and massive to be overlooked doesn't bode well for how well it will continue to be writen. But mostly I'm just getting really irritated by this "lost" writing style, blunder through several series writing ep to ep, making up crap without any idea where its going then finally, wrap it up over a few ep's making zero sense whatsoever, which is all I can imagine this ending up as :(

Did they not also miss the declaring of national emergency's, president having a press conference and closing the stock exchange, the looting which would have turned into massive riots with police vs half the city, it all just dissappeared while FBi agents sat in their plush office dealing with the long term things, while none of them were out helping stop crime or helping people. It was all just rather, odd, as said it should have been a two parter with an hour of "emergency stuff" inbetween the beginning and end.

Yeah thats what I thought, there would have been total anarchy for several days, the hospital would have been swamped constantly.

I'm not sure it can be that interesting either, are they going to have six or so episodes where people run about doing semi normal things while we wait for them to finally get to the six month point. Where all the visions either turn out to come true or they dont in which case one is depressing and the other is pointless.

You have a point, but the story is focused on several characters, none of whom would be involved with the riots in any way. Therefore it would not make sense to show the riots. It is character driven, so we follow the lives of these characters.

But this is a Sci-Fi thriller, not ER or NYPD Blue. If you're complaining about that, why don't we get an episode following an RAC man having to pick up all the crashed cars, or an insurance company dealing with all the claims. Because it has no direct bearing on the plot.

I thought it was a good start, and look forward to more.

I quite enjoyed the first Ep on C5 last night. The story seems like it could be good as long as they don't turn it into another LOST. (All smoke and mirrors with little substance, except for when you get thrown the tiniest of bones every so often to stop you from starving to death or going elsewhere).

The Mrs and I did lol at the blackout parts. I can understand car/plane/etc crashes, but in the buildings skyline there were massive fires in the skyscrapers. Not being funny, but most places, left unattended for 2-5 minutes will not combust/cause exploisions.

Other than that, was quite good and entertaining. Looking forward to seeing the rest!

Quite enjoyed it, but as usual the characters don't really act realistically.

*** spoilers alert *****

For example, the main character determines that the events are flashforwards. He then spends the day with his wife, and only after they end up in bed together seemingly hours after they met up does she ask what he saw in his vision.

Surely, that would be the first thing you ask when you meet your wife after determining they are flashforwards?

A lot of people also happened to see the date in their flashforward to allow the main character to determine he'd seen the future and move the plot forward.

Why was the main characters little girl allowed to wander around outside their house during the night. The main character just wonders why she wasn't in bed! If that was my parents i'd get a slap i'd never forget! She then gives him a friendship bracelet, which the main character saw he was wearing in his flashforward. Now, if that was me, i'd immediately destroy it, thus proving that the events can be changed. However, this guy puts it on.

I think the fires were probably caused by crashing aircraft, think how many planes and helicopters woiuld be airborne, especially over LA... Thats why they showed the falling helicopter, which had crashed and subsequently become dislodged.

No, lead character is the FBI agent, his wife was the surgeon, he rang her once to ask, "are you ok?", he wasnt with her until the end of the day.

Isn't there a montage of them together before the bedroom scene? May have it wrong though.

Watched it, will give it at least 5 episodes to get going but so far not expecting it to blow me away.

Just watched it on 5s version of iplayer (which incidentally has really loud advert breaks:mad:) and thought it was OK.

I have always had a soft spot for Penny out of Lost whois now the surgeon so I will watch some more.

I also like the fact that she and her two men (husband and future guy) are all British actors.

Yeah i felt the same, this should have been a two parter and it should have shown so much more going on in their city and world, it felt rushed and light on the details (yes i know its character driven but still...), for a show that has a lot of potential it was quite a poor way to start to things, however that's not to say it couldn't get interesting so i will be watching, i've learnt from past mistakes to give a show a chance because some can turn out quite good.

To everyone who is complaining about every last missing detail - It's not supposed to be a documentary showing how the world responds to an emergency scenario.

Imagine the fun watching days worth of footage of cars being pulled from the roads and people receiving treatment in hospitals etc..

Just watched it, I thought it was a pretty good first episode, although it did feel like 20 minutes of plot dragged out over an hour. But yeah, I'll carry on watching to see where it goes.

Your wasting your breath mate, its the usual OCUK nazi brigade that pick apart every single detail out at fault and state a massive post on it.

I'm just glad this lot aren't in the industry otherwise we'd be watching utter **** on tv, of as said previously, some1 filling out forms then the traffic lights changing colours etc and several other completely boring and pointless things that happen in the real world, but apparently must also happen in a fictional tv program thats ment for entertainment purposes.

Now on topic - I thought it was pretty good, the ending was pretty creepy i thought. I'll deffintly be watching the first 10episodes so i can get a good feel of it. So here's hoping it don't ge cancelled.
