Just got my MSI lightning 680. But unfortunately its one of the newer ones with the locked bios.

Ive downloaded nvflash 5.118 but when i go to run in from cmd prompt i get the following message " cannot run or start nvflash.exe because of 64bit something something "

Im following this guide :

To flash the BIOS, download the latest version of nvflash here.
extract the nvflash files to C:\
save the BIOS file to C:\
open elevated cmd window (hit start button, type "cmd", right click cmd icon, run as administrator)
change directory to C:\ (type " cd C:\ " )
OPTIONAL: type " nvflash --protectoff " then hit enter (turns off any error msg that may result from software write protection)
BACKUP ORIGINAL BIOS: Type " nvflash -b backup.rom " and a copy of your bios will be saved to the nvflash directory
type " nvflash -4 -5 -6 680L_UnlockedBIOS.rom "
wait for it to finish
reboot
OPTIONAL: reinstall drivers

Anybody know what im doing wrong?:o

Did you flash it with the first or 3rd bios? (cant't remember off hand) but one of my cards went artifacting if I put the F4 (I think it was) Bios on and had to put a later bios instead.

Still performs excellenty though :)

Both of my cards are on the 80.04.28.00.3A. I tried with the F8 bios on my newer Lightning and it wouldn't have any of it. I was curious if you had this problem but good to see you didn't :)

+93mv in afterburner. For some reason it wont stick on 100 :/

Finished playing now and have core at 1.34ghz and mem at 6.8ghz.

Just looked at voltage and it aint going over 1.21v ... w..t.f ? lol

well i had it a fair bit higher earlier on but locked up on 3dmark so i assume its stable now.

edit: is gpu-z reading the voltage wrong? A.B 2.2.3 with the 80.04.09.00.F8 successfully installed.

Is this also something that happened with you gregster?

Use Afterburner to read voltages. You may have to enable it though.

Afterburner doesn't have any voltage readings. Only the slider which shows how much extra ive added.

Go into settings, it's in there under "Unlock voltage monitoring". It will then ask you to restart AfterBurner and then you have to select the voltage to be monitored in the monitoring tab in settings.
