Hi guys
I got the site someone posted where I can find all of the different bios's
but im not sure what make my card is. i think its an ocuk one so its either powercolour, bba or connect3d.
which one should I download.
Also to flash it to a PE do I just down load the PE bios?
thanks

that sounds about right, but have you tested the card using ATI-Tool to see roughly what it can do?

You don't wanna flash your card until you have tested its overclocking abilities. .

I game with the card at 550/600 with no problems.
I haven't really tryed to push it any further as these settings play any game I want.
The card is water cooled and after a couple of hours of game play at these settings
the temp once reached 35c but useually stays around 31 and idles at 27c.
I have not yet put heat sincs on the memory, would this be a good idea?

Flip a coin? (with three sides?)

:D

Seriously, I don't think they'll be any difference, but you really should try and find out what make of card yours is.

I personally wouldn't bother - just run ATITool or ATI Tray Tools.

Does flashing to PE make any difference other than upping the default clock speeds?

What are the default speeds of the PE out of interest?

Cheers

I asked the same question on another thread. Default speeds of the x850xt pe are 540/590. apparently flashing to pe will tighten the memory as well.

Zeph.

It makes no difference other than changing the name and raising the stock clocks. My OEM X850XT could overclock with and beyond most XTPEs anyway. When Voltmodded I was able to clock it way beyond 700Mhz on the core.

Just leave it as it is.

I flashed my Saphire x800pro 1.6ns RAM (bought July04) to X800xtpe & it worked fine with water coolong BUT with stock cooling I had to re-flash to X800tx with 500core as got artifacts at 520.

when you say voltmodded what do you mean and how do I do it

If you don't know what I mean by voltmodding then it is probably safer that you don't try it.

But if you want to give it a go then you will find out what you need to know here:

http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/overclocking/voltmods/112

Please note the precautions about voltage/temperature. I ran my card at 1.73vgpu, 2.18vdd/vddq when benching, but I was also using very good water-cooling.

The pencil VID mods work quite well and if you can cool it well enough then there is no harm in running 1.6vgpu 24/7, but it depends on your cooling. 1.55v is definatley the max on the stock cooler with the fan at 100% override!
